Baltimore Manslaughter Sentences and Case Outcomes

The two selected Baltimore manslaughter reports use different sentence scopes. Timothy Clinedinst received 10 years imposed, with one year suspended and nine unsuspended, plus five years of probation. Donte Simms received a reported 30-year combined sentence, with five suspended and 25 unsuspended, plus three years of probation, across manslaughter and two firearm offenses. The Simms total is not an allocated manslaughter term, so these are separate outcomes, not a like-for-like range.

Evidence scope: Two defendants and two reported prosecutions are listed. Clinedinst’s sentencing announcement names manslaughter; the police report describes an involuntary-manslaughter charge, which is not substituted for an independently verified judgment subtype. His Dundalk arrest is not the Fells Point offense location. Simms’s release gives a Park Avenue block without separate municipal-boundary proof; source-reported locations are not blanket exact-city certification. These selected records are not all Baltimore cases, an average, a typical punishment or a prediction. Relevant agency passages were reviewed September 28, 2026; a reported imposed sentence is not a claim that every appeal is exhausted.

Reported case outcomes and sentence scope
Case Baltimore offense connection Imposed sentence and count scope Source
Timothy Clinedinst Fells Point; police incident report places the assault in the 1700 block of Eastern Avenue, distinct from Dundalk arrest. 10 years imposed / 1 suspended / 9 unsuspended; 5-year probation. Manslaughter as named by the sentencing agency; judgment subtype not independently verified. Scope: reported manslaughter term, not time actually served Case source
Donte Simms 300 block of Park Avenue as stated by the agency; separate municipal-point corroboration incomplete. 30 years imposed / 5 suspended / 25 unsuspended; 3-year probation. Manslaughter, firearm use in a crime of violence and illegal handgun possession; separate count allocation unspecified. Scope: combined total, not manslaughter-only Case source

How to read the outcomes

A target-count allocation may describe one count, while an aggregate term may cover multiple counts, enhancements, or proceedings. Aggregate totals are not converted into an isolated sentence for Manslaughter. No average or numerical citywide range is calculated.

The reported count structure, suspension and concurrency must be read separately. No unsupported explanation of a judge’s motive or a prediction of time actually served is inferred from the terms.
