Memphis Federal Fentanyl Trafficking Sentences and Case Outcomes
Myshun Jefferson’s 117-month fentanyl/firearm total and Armstrong’s 20-year death-resulting distribution sentence are not directly comparable ordinary trafficking terms. The Valero/Shelby Drive point in Armstrong’s release is a body-discovery location, not proof of the drug-transfer point.
These two displayed records are a small selected reporting set, not two fully qualified comparable incorporated-city sentencing clusters. Multiple counts, properties, defendants and reports do not automatically add independent cases.

Myshun Jefferson: Two Counts, One Total
The November 25, 2024 release describes controlled purchases at two Memphis properties and a search on Baywood Avenue. It identifies a September 4 plea to possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and a firearm-in-furtherance count. Sentencing was November 19: 117 months prison plus three years supervised release. The two properties and several firearms do not become separate qualifying prosecutions; the release gives no separate drug-count term.
Armstrong: Death Result and Location Limit
Armstrong pleaded guilty September 21, 2018 to distribution resulting in death. DOJ dates sentencing March 6, 2019, reporting a 20-year mandatory minimum for that judgment; March 7 is the release date. The October 10, 2016 discovery outside the Shelby Drive Valero is not expressly the fentanyl handover location. The release identifies Armstrong as the source but does not independently supply that transfer point. This death-result condition is not an ordinary fentanyl-only sentencing range, and no current-law maximum or automatic historical applicability is inferred.
How to read the outcomes
A target-count allocation may describe one count, while an aggregate term may cover multiple counts, enhancements, or proceedings. Aggregate totals are not converted into an isolated sentence for Federal Fentanyl Trafficking. No average or numerical citywide range is calculated.
No average, typical sentence or prediction is made. Prison and federal supervised release are distinct; restitution and another defendant’s term are not additional prison time for an individual. Relevant agency passages were read September 28, 2026 UTC (September 29 in Istanbul). Bounded official court/name searches did not establish a matched later change for these records; that is not exhaustive docket clearance. Municipal-point, historical-law and complete later-outcome qualification remain open.
