Baltimore Federal Hobbs Act Robbery Sentences and Case Outcomes

An attempted Hobbs Act robbery and a combined robbery/carjacking judgment answer different sentence questions. Thompson’s report concerns a single attempted Hobbs Act count at a North Baltimore residence. Hyman’s ten-year total spans commercial robberies and a carjacking in both Baltimore City and County; it is not a city-only or single-robbery term. These federal results are not Maryland state robbery sentences.

Evidence scope: Two named federal prosecution reports were read. Thompson’s June 6, 2025 release reports a guilty plea to one attempted-interference-with-commerce count and eight years and one month in prison; the accomplice’s death does not establish a murder conviction for Thompson. Hyman’s September 5, 2025 release reports ten years in prison followed by three years of supervised release for two commercial robberies and a carjacking across Baltimore City and County, without count allocation. Relevant agency sentence and offense-location passages were read September 28, 2026. Reported sentencing is not proof that all appeals are exhausted. Independent municipal-point corroboration and broader later-docket review are incomplete. This selected sample is not all city cases, an average, a typical result or a prediction.

How to read the outcomes

A target-count allocation may describe one count, while an aggregate term may cover multiple counts, enhancements, or proceedings. Aggregate totals are not converted into an isolated sentence for Federal Hobbs Act Robbery. No average or numerical citywide range is calculated.

The Thompson release places the attempted ambush at the family’s North Baltimore home, not at the restaurant; flight to Owings Mills is not a second Baltimore offense. The Hyman release places one robbery in East Baltimore while expressly describing the overall case as City/County conduct. These location passages are not a completed municipal-boundary or later-judgment audit.
