Memphis Federal Firearm During a Crime Sentences and Case Outcomes
Perdue’s reported 240-month firearm term is expressly consecutive to 63 robbery months. Motley, Moore and Myshun Jefferson instead have combined multi-offense totals without gun-only allocations. These four selected records do not establish a comparable citywide firearm sentencing range.
These 4 displayed records are selected reporting examples, not 4 fully qualified comparable incorporated-Memphis sentencing clusters. Exact municipal-point, historical-law and complete later-outcome qualification remain open.
Federal Offense and Jurisdiction
This guide separates federal judgments from Tennessee state/local judgments. The charged and convicted category matters. The federal statutory reference is not automatically the version applicable to an older offense; no present-day numerical minimum or maximum is asserted here.
Selected Reported Outcomes
| Case | Reported offense connection | Imposed outcome and scope | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Malik Motley | Release says Memphis-area Dollar General; exact store and municipal point unspecified | 303 months prison + five years supervised release. Scope: Hobbs robbery and firearm-discharge total, no gun-only allocation; source dates sentence July 20, 2024 | DOJ case account |
| Marchello Moore | Family Dollar, Knight Arnold Road; bank, Kirby Center Cove; independent boundary review open | 120 months prison, January 8, 2016. Scope: bank robbery, Hobbs robbery and firearm-brandishing total; no individual allocation or supervision term supplied | DOJ case account |
| Quincy Perdue | 4330 Summer Avenue and 2015 East Brooks Road; release identifies Memphis offense addresses | 63 months for two bank robberies + 240 months consecutive for firearm discharge = 303 months, September 4, 2019. Scope: robbery-class and allocated firearm terms, not 303 months bank robbery alone | DOJ case account |
| Myshun Jefferson | Controlled purchases at two Memphis properties; Baywood Avenue search, not independent prosecutions | 117 months prison + three years supervised release, November 19, 2024. Scope: fentanyl/firearm-in-furtherance total, gun-only allocation unspecified | DOJ case account |
Motley: Area-Level Location and Combined Term
DOJ reports an October 2023 plea to Hobbs Act robbery and firearm discharge, following an October 3, 2021 robbery. Its July 31, 2024 release expressly dates sentencing July 20: 303 months prison plus five years supervised release. No separate firearm term is stated. The store is described as Memphis-area, without an address. Memphis residence, later arrest and MPD participation do not establish an incorporated-city offense point.
Moore: Three Counts, One Total
The release dates the Family Dollar robbery March 30, 2014 and bank robbery April 7. A September 2015 plea covered one bank-robbery count, one interstate-commerce robbery count and one firearm-brandishing count. The January 8, 2016 sentence is 120 months combined, without an isolated bank or firearm term. Two robbery locations and three counts do not make three independent prosecutions. The release does not state a supervised-release term; none is invented.
Perdue: Allocated Firearm Term, Shared Robbery Term
The March 15, 2019 plea covered two bank robberies and one firearm-discharge count related to the second robbery. DOJ dates sentencing September 4, not the September 5 release date. Its detailed sentence is 63 months for the bank robberies plus 240 months consecutive for the firearm count: 303 months, or 25 years and three months. The headline’s rounded 25 years is not a bank-only allocation. The 63 months are not separately assigned to each robbery, and no supervision term is supplied.
Myshun Jefferson: Same Fentanyl Prosecution
The November 25, 2024 release dates the two-count plea September 4 and sentencing November 19: 117 months plus three years supervised release. It gives no isolated firearm term. Two controlled-purchase properties and several seized guns are not additional independent prosecutions. This is the same record in our fentanyl guide.
How to Read These Records
Prison and federal supervised release are distinct. Terms imposed on different defendants or in different prosecutions are not added into one sentence. No average, typical result, release date or prediction is calculated. Relevant primary agency passages were read September 28, 2026 UTC (September 29 in Istanbul); the Jefferson passage was already read for the fentanyl revision. Focused official court/name searches did not establish a matched later change, but are not exhaustive docket clearance. An agency’s street or neighborhood account still needs independent municipal-boundary review.
These selected reported records are not all Memphis cases, an average, a typical sentence or a prediction. Imposed terms and unsuspended portions do not establish time actually served or a release date. Read the case-selection methodology, editorial standards and Memphis sentencing hub.
